assessment and its accompanying report are subject to close scrutiny in
due process hearings. In this session, attorney Jan Tomsky offers a guide to
the rules governing compliant assessments and how to document
appropriately the assessment findings in the assessment report. Jan will
navigate the IDEA and California statutory requirements in this area and,
through recent case examples, illustrate what does (and does not) pass
legal muster. Plus she’ll provide numerous practical pointers on writing clear
and concise assessment reports to guide IEP teams in making defensible
eligibility decisions.
