Evaluation and Eligibility Determination for English Language Learners

Become familiar with typical bilingual language development, and learn how
the grammatical and phonetic structure of language may influence
language. Understand how the stages of bilingual language acquisition can
affect testing outcomes which may lead to over identification. Discuss
California Ed Code and learn when testing is needed in primary language.
Resources will be provided to assist in determining language difference
versus disorder when an interpreter or standardized test is not available.
