This training provides school staff with practical preventive behavior strategies for
supporting students with extensive support needs. Based on the principles of NCI
(nonviolent crisis intervention) and aligned with evidence-based practices, the
session focuses on proactive supports, behavior as communication, regulation,
visual and environmental supports, communication access, AAC, early de-escalation, and consistent team responses. Participants will leave with strategies
they can use immediately to support student dignity, safety, engagement,
independence, and access to learning.
