Structured Teaching is an instructional approach that uses clear organization, visual supports, predictable routines, and individualized work systems to help students understand expectations and participate more independently. This training will explore how Structured Teaching can be used to support students with extensive support needs (ESN) across classroom routines, instructional
activities, transitions, and independent work tasks.
Participants will learn how Structured Teaching incorporates multiple evidence-based practices for autism, including Visual Supports, Antecedent-Based Interventions, Task Analysis, and Prompting and Reinforcement. Through practical examples and hands-on application, participants will explore how to
design structured environments, create meaningful visual supports, organize tasks, and develop systems that increase student independence, engagement, and access to instruction.
Participants will leave with practical strategies and ready-to-use ideas they can begin implementing in the classroom.
